Introduction to Part-II of the LeaP-Quest

Since the time of the Industrial Revolution, atmospheric CO2 concentrations have increased by a worrisome 43%. On a global scale, this is a significant change. Human activities emit 29 billion tons of carbon dioxide each year, and most of this derives from the burning of fossil fuels for energy.

Students will be able to explore the concept of carbon footprint, its relationship with our daily life, activities and how it affects climate change. They will also explore the relationship between global warming and their carbon footprint.

Problem Statement - 1 (Game Making for Friends & Parents)

आपको आपके स्कूल में एक कम्युनिटी लीडर के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है और कार्बन फुटप्रिंट को कम करने के लिए अभिभावकों को संवेदनशील बनाने के लिए आपको अम्बेसडर बनाया गया है |

माता-पिता आमतौर पर सोचते हैं कि वें सब कुछ  जानते हैं और वें किसी भी प्रकार का लेक्चर सुनने को तैयार नहीं हैं खासकर अपने बच्चों से | इसलिए आपको माता-पिता के लिए कार्बन फुटप्रिंट के प्रति संवेदनशील बनाने के लिए एक गेम डिज़ाइन करने के लिए कहा गया है | आप 5 से 6 लोगों के साथ एक टीम में काम कर सकते हैं |

The game should demonstrate about:-

• The connection between real-life activities and carbon footprint is related to it.
• Habits that can reduce our carbon footprint

Small steps, huge impact: आप अपने स्कूल की ऐसी 10 गतिविधियों की सूची बनाइये जिससे कार्बन फुटप्रिंट में वृद्धि हो रही है | अपने स्कूल में कार्बन फुटप्रिंट को कम करने के लिए कुछ उपाय खोजिये (कम से कम 5) | आपके द्वारा खोजे गए उपायों का उपयोग करके एक प्रेजेंटेशन तैयार कीजिये जिससे आप इसे SMC के प्रस्तुत कर सकें कि कैसे आपके द्वारा सुझाये गए उपाय कार्बन फुटप्रिंट को कम करने में प्रभावी सिद्ध हो सकते हैं |

आप निम्नलिखित क्षेत्रों पर विचार कर सकते हैं पर सिमित नहीं है –

• नवीनीकरण उर्जा में स्विच करना
• पुनर्चक्रण
• जल संरक्षण
• मध्यान्ह भोजन

Problem Statement - 3 (Consequences of Carbon Footprint)

Part-1 

जब आप सड़क पर कार से जा रहे थे, तो अचानक आपने देखा कि आपके सामने एक चक्रवात आ गया है। अब आप उस चक्रवात से कैसे बच सकते हैं? उस चक्रवात से बचने के लिए सबसे सुरक्षित उपाय क्या हो सकते हैं ?। अब इस स्थिति का अनुकरण करते हुए एक गेम बनाएं। (आप छात्रों के साथ ग्रुप में कार्य कर सकते हैं )
Guidelines:-

• use scratch.mit.edu for creating a game
• use can make sprite in paint or free download 
• use variables and make control of the game as well as think about how to score in this game.

Part-2

जलवायु परिवर्तन के बारे में चर्चा और संभावित समाधानों के साथ-साथ यह हमें कैसे प्रभावित कर रहा है, इस विषय पर स्क्रैच का उपयोग करके एक एनीमेशन स्टोरी बनाइये | जिसमें आप अलग-अलग पात्रों, कहानी , संवादों और स्टेज सेटअप के बारे में सोच सकते हैं | (आप छात्रों के साथ ग्रुप में कार्य कर सकते हैं)
Guideline:-

• Use Sprites of animals as they can more be affected due to climate change 
• Use text to speech in scratch 
• Use different voice in scratch 
• Add a time limit of 5 minutes

परिवहन क्षेत्र के कारण पिछले 5 वर्षों में अपने देश में उत्सर्जित कार्बन की मात्रा का पता लगाइए | परिवहन क्षेत्र को कार्बन रहित उत्सर्जन की ओर ले जाने के लिए एक रणनीतिक प्लान अथवा मॉडल बनायें |

आप निम्नलिखित क्षेत्रों पर विचार कर सकते हैं पर सिमित नहीं है –

• • उन वाहनों में उपयोग की जाने वाली टेक्नोलॉजी के बारे में बताएं जो कम कार्बन उत्सर्जन अथवा बिना कार्बन उत्सर्जन के चलती हैं और जिन्हें अन्य वाहनों के विकल्प के रूप में उपयोग किया जा सकता है |
• • Cleaner Fuel option other Diesel and Petrol or Gasoline.
• • आप अपने विचार, सुझाव अथवा समाधान प्रस्तुत कर सकते हैं जिनका उपयोग मौजूदा वाहनों में बदलाव अथवा विकल्प के रूप में किया जा सकता है.

जैसा कि आप जानते हैं कि कोयला, प्राकृतिक गैस, और पेट्रोलियम का उपयोग हम बिजली और ऊष्मा प्राप्त करने के लिए करते हैं और यह ग्रीन हाउस गैस उत्सर्जन के लिए मुख्य रूप से जिम्मेदार हैं |

आपको एक थर्मल पॉवर स्टेशन के महाप्रबंधक के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है :-

•  अधिकतम 5-7 बच्चों के समूह में काम करें और नवीनीकरण/हरित विद्युत् में स्विच करने की योजना अथवा एक मॉडल तैयार करें (आवश्यकता अनुसार अपनी धारणाओं को शामिल करें )

• यदि आपकी योजना आवश्यकता से अधिक बिजली उत्पन्न करने में सक्षम है तो आप शेष बिजली का क्या करेंगें |
